Looking for any updated trail conditions for Mt. Marcy, specifically the floating logs. Thanks in advance!

Howdy, just incase anyone is doing ST/NYE anytime coming up I had my petzl head lamp and a powertac flashlight come out of my pocket that must have gotten unzipped on something on the way back down. Just incase anyone comes across either of them. Loj has my info as well.
Sewards vs Santas
Hi—I posted earlier this week about the Sewards and was set to do them Friday, but now I’m waffling again. This trip we only have time for Seward, Edmond, Donaldson but not Seymour. So now I’m wondering if we should go for the Santa’s and save all four Sewards for a better time. I guess in other words, would we regret orphaning Seymour?
Make sure to check the distance to each trailhead, even though the ranges are near each other I think it’s around an hour and a half from one trailhead to the other! If you don’t think you’d get around to doing the 4 in the Seward range in one trip then you wouldn’t regret orphaning Seymour since it is intense to add on. However, doing the Santanoni range would also be strategic. Whichever one you commit to, you’ll have a fun time!
Hey Guys!
Hey everyone! How’s it going? I know you haven’t heard from me in a while, but I thought I would just pop in here and see how everyone’s summer has been? I left the Adirondacks right when the weather started getting really nice! I’m starting to lose all the calluses on my feet and it’s really annoying lol. Not much out here in Ohio and the gym is a different discipline. I’m not sure how James Appleton does it.
Thanks for the recommendation for Labor Day weekend on your thoughts on my mega loop! My Coloradan friend and I ended up doing Marcy, Skylight, Haystack via starting at the Garden. My friend said they were equivalent to doing a 14er in Colorado (going up the backside of Haystack from descending Skylight was HARD). Have now done 20 peaks, 8 of them this summer! Now I have all the little-to-no-view/bushwhacking/muddy ones left 😥

I hiked Gray and Skylight last week and went out-and-back over the floating logs. The jumbled mess of scattered logs has settled above the muddy and swamp and was firm, not floating. You'll be able to move through fairly quickly while keeping your feet dry. I had previously summited Marcy, which is why, after summiting Skylight, I hiked back to the ADK Loj via the floating logs rather than completing a loop over Marcy, but now is a good time to hike any or all of Gray, Skylight & Marcy.
