As with most of the usually muddy trails this summer, the trail for this hike has a minimal amount of mud. For the most part where there is mud you are able to rock hop or easily scoot around it. The bog at the intersection for S&N and the bog heading up to Street were easily walked across. The blowdown on this hike is what gets you now. There is quite a bit and it really slows you down the higher up you climb. There are also many new human herd paths being formed to avoid it so keep your eyes open. Crossing over Indian Pass Brook is easy right now ( I have crossed it in waist deep water before). There are many spots to cross it. I prefer to wait until I get about 1.5 miles in. Thanks for posting this, looks like I great hike. I was thinking about doing this next weekend, but I know next weekend will be busy. I plan on leaving my house around 2 am to get there around 5 am. If the lot is full can people park on the road? Or will I need to turn around if the lot is full. If that's the case is there another parking lot down the road? This will be my first time to that trailhead. -Thanks :)
