Cliff and Redfield via which trail?

In about 2.5 weeks, I’m going to be coming up to the Adirondacks to finish my 46. Two of the last nine I need are Cliff and Redfield. I was wondering which trail you all recommend. My friend reccomended the trail from ADK Loj. However, everywhere else I’ve seen people saying the Upper Works trail is better. If people could give me their recommendations and some pros and cons to each that would be amazing!

I prefer upper works for many reasons. I explored every foot of the old mill and the left over houses 30 years ago with my brother so that brings back memories. Parking is easier than the loj. Less people on the trail. After exiting the north way I love that section of blue ridge road that seems as if you are way high up on a road in the mountain out west. The trail is relatively easy till you get to the turn off next to uphill lean to also. I’m not much of a history buff but Tahawus is pretty interesting considering it’s in such an awesome location and the signs they put up with some history on them are pretty neat. Good luck!

Not far in on the calamity brook trail
