Good morning. Heading up to the lake placid area tomorrow for some weekend hiking. Plan A is to finish the lower great range with a trip up Beaver meadow trail to Armstrong and over to the wolf jaws and down Wedge brook. I am aware of the ladder but hear it's manageable. (Hopefully that includes ppl of 5ft lol) Then we are thinking of doing Giant And RPR the following day. Is parking still allowed along rt 73 to go up via Giant Mtn Ridge Trail? And what are some good places to take a swim/dip after those hikes? Thanks and Happy 4th!

All of the parking is still available along giant for both roaring Brook and Ridge Trail. Just some pull offs between the trail heads are closed. But you should have no problem. As far as the swimming goes, of course just jumping right across the street over to Chapel Pond is a good choice, or if you wanted to drive a little bit, you could go to split rock Falls just down the road a bit towards Elizabethtown!
