Marcy Skylight Gray 46er Finish!
Incredible day yesterday, finally finished on Skylight!
Made a quick stop to Indian Falls before cutting over to the Lake Arnold Trail. The work around for the slide was a lot shorter than I expected. The Floating Logs certainly lived up to their reputation, my foot went in up to my knee, haha. Gray was a fun climb, negotiating the rock walls and slabs made it enjoyable. The views of Skylight really got me excited to get back down and over there! The climb up Skylight seemed to go quick, once above tree line it was really starting to set in, the finish was just ahead! Beautiful views on top, and the alpine vegetation was magnificent. I'm really happy I decided on this as the finish rather than Whiteface! It was great to look towards the Santanoni Range to reminisce on the beginning of this adventure! The climb up the back side of Marcy was a calf burner, but man, it was incredible! Unfortunately, for the second time on Marcy I was socked in, maybe I'll get lucky when I do it in the winter, we'll see!
Congratulations! That will be my finishing hike as well, hopefully in a few days!
