Tongue range traverse
6 of the 12 peaks in the Lake George 12ster. Started from the north end and it took my group about 12 hours for the 18 miles - we took an hour swim break in there.
First three peaks didnโt have much of a view but the bottom three had beautiful views of the southern ADK (5th peak) and lake George looking south (French point mountain and 1st peak).
The tip of the tongue (Montcalm point) had a beautiful view and a perfect spot for some swimming. 5.5 miles to the end dragged but it was very interesting going through many blow downs from last season which was cleared by the 46er group (as I was told).
Beautiful hike to get in high peak shape! Oh! And we had two rattlesnake sightings!
