Share Your Hike

Hiked Tabletop today and it was in pretty good shape overall. Most of the trail was dry, but there was a lot of mud once we got to the actual “trail” to Tabletop. I would say the mud was the worst during the last mile and a half. The bugs weren’t too terrible until the summit, but they were absolutely relentless up there. We couldn’t stay longer than a few minutes and that was with bug nets and ample amounts of bug spray. There were a lot of people out today, but everyone was friendly, respectful, and just happy to be out there.

I actually went into this hike expecting a pretty quick “jaunt,” and was surprised by how much of a slog some of it was. I’m glad I got it done since I already did Phelps a couple years ago. I wouldn’t go out of my way to do it again, but I would do it again if someone asked me to do it with them. Even if it wasn’t my favorite ADK hike, I still think any day in the mountains is a good day. I’ll always choose a “less favorite” hike over no hike at all.
