Hurricane & Nun-Da-Ga-O Loop 8/15
The trails for both of these hikes were dry with just some spots of solid mud on the loop trail. The loop had quite a bit of blowdown but all was easily passable. The cob webs were a plenty on the loop due to the lack of foot traffic. Sun glasses came in handy!!! I also would recommend pants and long sleeves for the loop or you will get scraped up. If you have never done either of these hikes I highly suggest that you give it a go. Hurricane is right up there with Noonmark for me as my favorite non high peak hikes. The loop is a great hike if you want to avoid a lot of foot traffic. You get great views to the south on the loop when you reach Weston Mtn and there are plenty of viewpoints as you cross the ridge of this hike. Hurricane is very straight forward and well marked. The loop not so much. There are times where you will need to search for the trail especially when you are on the ridge. Some people add Big Crow to the loop hike. I did not today. As always be safe, leave no trace and happy hiking to all!!!
