Dix-ing Around on 7/4 🇺🇸
Started the day on the North Boquet herd path, which was definitely was a little overgrown with some wet sections, but still passable and easy enough to follow if you’re paying attention. The ridge itself was in great shape. Steep, rugged, and classic Adirondack. Bagged Macomb, South Dix (Carson), East Dix (Grace), Hough, and finished strong on Dix Mountain. Incredible views all day — especially from Grace and Dix — with sweeping looks at Giant, the Great Range, and even the Greens off in the distance.
Descent down the Beckhorn trail was tough on the knees but well-maintained. We cruised out past the leantos and finished at Round Pond, soaking our feet and taking in one last quiet view before heading out. All in all, a beautiful and rewarding day in the High Peaks on Independence Day 🤟🏻
