Route Guidance
Trail Overview
Allen Mountain is one of the most remote single High Peaks, reached by a long East River approach and the steep Allen Brook climb. The summit is wooded, but the route is memorable for its distance, water crossings, slippery red slime, and isolation.
Cautions
Allen is a long, remote High Peaks day with water crossings, steep herd-path climbing, and slippery Allen Brook slabs. Plan for slow footing, limited bailout options, and a long return after the summit.
