Trail Overview
The Boardwalk Nature Trail is best identified as the Boreal Life Trail at the Paul Smith’s College VIC. This short interpretive loop is built around wetland and boreal habitats, including spruce swamp, bog, conifer forest, and mixed woodland. Its signature feature is the long boardwalk through Barnum Bog, where hikers can experience tamaracks, wetland plants, carnivorous plants, and boreal birding habitat without a long backcountry approach. The trail is easy, educational, and strongly suited to nature observation rather than mileage or elevation challenge.
