Route Guidance
Trail Overview
Buck Mountain Fire Tower is a newer public fire-tower destination north of Long Lake, reached through a public-access easement on private land. The hike has a friendly, approachable character, with constructed stairs helping on steeper sections before the restored tower opens wide views over the surrounding forest and Long Lake area. It is one of the better fire tower choices for hikers who want a real destination without a long day.
Access
Large parking area on Sabattis Circle Road; public access is through a conservation/public-access easement.
Seasonal Notes
Access and parking details may change with landowner agreements, road conditions, or seasonal management. Confirm current Long Lake access notes before heading out.
Cautions
Private-land/easement context; stay on the authorized trail and use the designated parking/access only. Use care on stairs and tower in winter.
