Route Guidance
Trail Overview
Buttermilk Falls is a highly accessible waterfall destination along the Raquette River near North Point Road in the Long Lake area. The falls are a long-standing stop for canoe-route users and an easy family destination, with picnic tables close to the water. The hike itself is very short, leading from roadside parking toward broad flat rocks beside the waterfall and river. It is best treated as a scenic stop, quick nature walk, or low-effort outing rather than a sustained hike, but the setting still gives visitors a classic Adirondack river-and-waterfall experience.
