Route Guidance
Trail Overview
Cascade Lake is a moderate loop in the Pigeon Lake Wilderness near Big Moose Road, combining lake travel, wetland crossings, old road walking, and a waterfall side trip. Hikers can make a full loop around the lake or visit Cascade Falls as a shorter out and back. The route passes bridges, wet areas, forested shoreline sections, and remnants of the former Lake Cascade Camp along the north shore. It is a good Hamilton County choice for hikers who want water, history, and a longer low elevation outing.
