Route Guidance
Trail Overview
Cascade Mountain is one of the most popular first High Peaks, climbed from Route 73 by a steady marked trail to an open, weather-exposed summit. The route is straightforward by High Peaks standards, but the summit exposure and crowded roadside access still require planning.
Access
Primary Route 73 parking fills early on busy days; park only in legal signed areas and expect roadside congestion in peak season. Use designated Route 73 parking only; this area fills early and roadside restrictions may apply.
Cautions
Cascade’s summit is exposed and can be windy, cold, or clouded in. Route 73 parking is limited and roadside congestion is common, so use only legal signed parking.
