Route Guidance
Trail Overview
Cobble Mountain near Upper Jay is a lesser-known Sentinel Range Wilderness hike reached from the Bartlett Road side, separate from Cobble Hill in Lake Placid and Cobble Lookout in Wilmington. The route is short but real, climbing through open forest toward ledges and a summit area with views across Upper Jay, the Sentinel Range, and nearby High Peaks terrain. Treat it as a discreet, low-signage objective rather than a polished front-country trail: confirm parking, expect limited marking, and avoid confusing it with better-known Cobble destinations elsewhere in the Adirondacks.
Seasonal Notes
Check Bartlett Road access before winter use; the road may not be plowed in winter.
