Route Guidance
Coon Mountain is the summit centerpiece of the Adirondack Land Trust's Westport Preserve, offering a short hike with a strong Champlain Valley payoff. The route climbs through forest and rocky terrain to panoramic views of Lake Champlain, Vermont's Green Mountains, and the Adirondack High Peaks. A gentler Hidden Valley loop option adds variety below the summit. It is well suited to families and casual hikers, but the summit trail still climbs steadily enough to feel like a real outing.
