Route Guidance
Trail Overview
Crane Pond is one of the most useful entry destinations in Pharaoh Lake Wilderness: a large interior pond with camping, paddling, fishing, and onward trail connections. Treat it as a foot-access backcountry pond destination, not as a guaranteed road-access shortcut. The experience is defined by the pond setting, the wilderness edge, and the many routes that continue deeper into the Pharaoh Lake area.
Access
Major interior hub. Verify road status/access restrictions.
Seasonal Notes
Pharaoh Lake Wilderness is open year-round with no fee. Crane Pond Trail is not designated or maintained for motor-vehicle use.
Cautions
Do not treat Crane Pond Trail as a drivable road or trailhead access. The trail is neither designated nor maintained for motor-vehicle use.
