Route Guidance
Trail Overview
Debar Mountain is a quieter northern Adirondack summit that feels more like a traditional forest climb than a busy viewpoint hike. The trail begins from the Meacham Lake side and gradually becomes more serious before the final steeper push. The summit is partly wooded, but the hike gives a strong sense of the northern Adirondack landscape and works well for hikers looking beyond the busiest High Peaks and fire tower circuits.
Access
Trailhead is within Meacham Lake Campground and follows the Debar Mountain Trail to the summit.
Seasonal Notes
When Meacham Lake Campground is open, hikers are required to pay a day-use fee. The wild forest is open year-round.
Cautions
The final section is steep, and summit views are limited by trees. Plan around seasonal campground and day-use-fee handling.
