Route Guidance
Trail Overview
Ferd's Bog is one of the easiest and most distinctive short walks in the Inlet/Raquette Lake area. The trail starts from Uncas Road and quickly drops through forest to a boardwalk reaching into an open Adirondack bog. Ferd's Bog is a 0.3-mile nature trail, with the full out-and-back typically landing around 0.6 to 0.7 mile depending on how the boardwalk and approach are counted. The destination is especially valuable for birding, wetland plants, and a quiet ecosystem experience that feels very different from a summit hike.
