Route Guidance

Trail Overview

Fly Pond is a compact backcountry pond outing near the Bald Mountain and Rondaxe area. The hike begins from the Bald Mountain parking area, crosses County Route 93, and follows a somewhat understated trail through open hardwood forest. A short side path leads down to the pond, where the grassy shoreline, wildlife potential, and birding value are the main draw. The outing is short enough for an easy add on before or after Bald Mountain, but it still requires attention at the road crossing and trail junction.
