Trail Overview
Henry’s Woods is a community preserve just outside Lake Placid, owned and maintained by the Uihlein Foundation. The trail system is built around an accessible network of short loops and side trails, making it useful for walking, running, casual hiking, snowshoeing, and mellow biking. The main Loop Trail provides an easy two-mile circuit, while Plateau, Switchback, Connector, and Rocky Knob trails add variety. Rocky Knob is the system’s main viewpoint, with steeper, rockier footing and views toward Lake Placid and the High Peaks area. This is more of a local trail network than a single destination summit.
Access
Local network hub, not wilderness-style. Useful for family/easy hikes.
