Route Guidance
Hurricane Mountain is a fire-tower peak east of Lake Placid and Keene with an open summit, ledges, and wide views. Hikers commonly use the Route 9N approach, while Hurricane Lane and Crow Clearing provide shorter or less-used alternatives. The hike has classic Adirondack character: mixed forest, wet sections, bridges or stream crossings depending on route, and a rocky final scramble near the summit. It fits hikers who want a major-view summit without committing to a High Peak.
