Trail Overview
Loon Lake Mountain is a legitimate public trail to a named fire-tower summit in Debar Mountain Wild Forest. The hike climbs steadily through northern Adirondack forest to a summit with fire-tower history and broad mountain character. The tower itself is closed to public climbing, but the summit remains a valid hiking destination.
Access
Loon Lake Mountain Trail extends 2.8 miles from the trailhead to the summit and fire tower.
Seasonal Notes
Debar Mountain Wild Forest is open year-round with no fee.
Cautions
The Loon Lake Mountain Fire Tower is closed to public climbing. Hikers can use the trail and visit the summit, but must not climb the tower unless official access changes.
