Route Guidance
Trail Overview
Lows Ridge, also commonly described as the Hitchins Pond Overlook, is the view-focused hike above the Bog River/Lows Lake corridor. The route begins with a long, mostly easy road walk toward Lows Upper Dam, then turns onto a shorter but steeper climb to the exposed ridge. From the top, hikers get open views over Hitchins Pond, Lows Lake, the Bog River Flow, wetlands, and surrounding low wilderness. It is more rewarding than the approach terrain suggests, but the full outing is longer than the overlook spur alone.
