Route Guidance
Trail Overview
Lyon Mountain is one of the most significant northern Adirondack summit hikes, combining fire-tower value with regional high-point identity. The route climbs through the Chazy Highlands to a summit that stands apart from the more familiar High Peaks and gives wide views across the northern park, Lake Champlain side, and surrounding forest.
Access
Trail begins on Chazy Highlands State Forest and reaches the summit/fire tower on the Chazy Highlands Management Complex.
Seasonal Notes
Chazy Highlands Wild Forest is open year-round with no fee.
Cautions
Longer sustained climb; respect conservation-easement and posted-property boundaries in the broader Chazy Highlands complex.
