Route Guidance
Trail Overview
Moose Pond is a deeper Newcomb-area objective for hikers who want quiet mileage, water, and a more remote feel than the main Camp Santanoni carriage-road outing. The route begins from the Santanoni Gate area, follows Newcomb Lake Road, then turns onto the Moose Pond corridor for a long approach toward the pond. The grade is not summit-steep, but the total distance makes it a serious day. Hikers go for quiet water, Santanoni Range views, Ermine Brook Slide scenery, and the option to plan around designated primitive tent-site use.
