Route Guidance
Trail Overview
Mount Skylight is a remote, open High Peak reached deep in the central range, most often after climbing Marcy or traveling through Four Corners. Its summit has broad, alpine-feeling views, but the distance from the trailhead makes it a serious objective.
Access
Adirondack Loj / HPIC is a paid, high-use High Peaks gateway; the lot often fills early on busy days.
Cautions
Skylight sits far from the trailhead and is usually part of a long interior High Peaks day. Weather exposure, wet trail, and the long return through Feldspar or Lake Arnold can make timing and daylight critical.
