Route Guidance
Trail Overview
Panther Mountain, commonly tied to Echo Cliff, is a short but steep hike near Piseco in the southern Adirondacks. The route climbs from the County Route 24/West Shore Road area through forest to exposed cliff viewpoints above Piseco Lake. Hikers go for a quick challenge with a large scenic payoff, especially the lake and Silver Lake Wilderness views from the open ledges. The hike is beginner-accessible for distance, but the grade and cliff-edge exposure make footing and caution important.
