Route Guidance
Trail Overview
Pharaoh Lake is one of the defining water destinations of Pharaoh Lake Wilderness. The southern approach from Pharaoh Road reaches the lake as a moderate out-and-back, with a steady forest walk into a broad wilderness lake basin. Hikers go for shoreline scenery, camping context, lean-to country, and the feeling of entering one of the Adirondacks’ classic lower-elevation wilderness interiors.
Access
Primary route uses the Pharaoh Lake Road Trailhead and follows the Pharaoh Lake Trail to the outlet/intersection at Pharaoh Lake.
Seasonal Notes
Pharaoh Lake Wilderness is open year-round with no fee.
Cautions
Bridge, bog-bridge, mud, and water conditions can affect the southern approach. Check recent reports and official notices before relying on this route after heavy rain or seasonal runoff.
