Route Guidance
Trail Overview
Pilot Knob Ridge is a compact preserve hike in the Schumann Preserve at Pilot Knob on the east side of Lake George. The main visitor draw is the gazebo overlook, reached by a short uphill trail with rewarding views over Lake George and the surrounding hills. The route is not long, but it climbs enough to feel more substantial than a flat nature walk. Keep the focus on the preserve’s overlook route and avoid expanding it into a longer ridge traverse unless that route is confirmed separately.
