Trail Overview
Poke-O-Moonshine is one of the signature fire tower hikes in the northeastern Adirondacks. The mountain rises above dramatic cliffs that are well known to rock climbers, while hikers climb through forest to an open summit and restored fire tower. The outing is short compared with many Adirondack summits, but the climbing is steady and feels more demanding than its mileage suggests. The reward is a high-value view from the summit area and tower over the Champlain Valley, surrounding forests, and distant Adirondack peaks.
