Route Guidance
Trail Overview
The Queer Lake and Windfall Pond route sits in the Pigeon Lake Wilderness and is best treated as a quiet backcountry pond hike rather than a summit objective. The route uses the Windfall Pond / Queer Lake trail network to reach remote water, forest, and camping terrain in the Big Moose area. Hikers go for solitude, classic low-elevation Adirondack wilderness character, and pond-to-pond travel. The route is not technically difficult, but distance, wet footing, old bridges, and remote conditions make it more serious than a casual nature walk.
