Trail Overview
Rich Lake is one of the easiest destination walks in the Newcomb area, reached from the Adirondack Interpretive Center trail system. The AIC property includes interpretive trails along Rich Lake, Rich Lake outlet, Sucker Brook, and nearby mixed forest and wetland habitats. For destination-destination, this is treated as a short, beginner-friendly nature walk rather than a strenuous backcountry hike. Hikers go here for accessible-feeling terrain, quiet water views, boardwalk and forest sections, and interpretive value, especially when they want a low-commitment Adirondack outing with good natural-history context.
