Route Guidance
Trail Overview
Rocky Falls is a scenic waterfall destination reached from the Adirondack Loj / Heart Lake area by following the Indian Pass Trail through rolling forest. The route passes near Heart Lake and continues toward a short spur to Indian Pass Brook, where Rocky Falls and nearby backcountry camping areas provide the main attraction. Hikers choose it for a relatively gentle High Peaks outing with water, woods, and waterfall scenery rather than a summit. The hike is much easier than the full Indian Pass route, but it still requires normal High Peaks preparedness.
