Route Guidance
Trail Overview
Rooster Comb is a well-known Keene Valley summit reached from the Rooster Comb trailhead near Route 73. The route begins with a long wooden bridge and trail register, passes a small pond behind Keene Central School, and climbs steadily through mostly easy-to-moderate terrain. Junctions along the way connect toward Snow Mountain, Hedgehog, and Lower Wolf Jaw, but the summit spur makes Rooster Comb a logical standalone half-day objective. The hike is popular because it gives strong Keene Valley views without requiring a full Great Range day.
