Route Guidance
Trail Overview
Sagamore Lake is a classic low-difficulty loop in the Blue Ridge Wilderness beside Great Camp Sagamore. The Sagamore Lake Trail makes a 3.8-mile loop around the lake's shoreline as part of the Camp Sagamore trail system reached from the large parking area on Sagamore Road. The hike combines easy walking, lake scenery, and Adirondack Great Camp history, making it more of a relaxed interpretive woodland walk than a rugged mountain route. It is a strong option for visitors who want scenic water, historic context, and a manageable loop without committing to a long backcountry day.
