Route Guidance
Trail Overview
Sand Lake Falls is a remote waterfall destination in the Black River Wild Forest, reached by a long route through the Woodhull Creek drainage. The red-marked Sand Lake Falls Trail runs between Mill Creek Road and North Lake Road, crosses Woodhull Creek, and passes the falls. For the destination, this is treated as a backcountry waterfall hike rather than a quick roadside stop. The route has meaningful distance, wooded travel, and a wilder feel than the shorter waterfall destinations elsewhere in the western Adirondacks.
