Route Guidance
Trail Overview
Sawyer Mountain is a popular short hike near Indian Lake and Blue Mountain Lake because it delivers a real climb and a strong view payoff in limited mileage. The route follows a roughly 1.1-mile trail from the Route 30 trailhead to an overlook near the summit area, making the standard outing about 2.2 miles round trip. Hikers continue for ledge views toward mountains such as Snowy and Wakely, with steady climbing rather than a long approach.
