Route Guidance
Trail Overview
Spectacle Pond is a quiet Pharaoh Lake Wilderness hike that works well for an afternoon outing or a relaxed family-style walk when conditions are normal. The trail has a gentle backcountry feel, following an old woods road marked with yellow DEC discs through rolling forest, light climbs, brook crossings, and a gradual approach toward the pond with about 360 feet of gain. It is not a big mountain day, but the shoreline, campsite area, and views across the water give it the kind of peaceful payoff that makes this part of the Adirondacks feel tucked away.
