Trail Overview
Stewart and Indian Lakes Trail is a southern Adirondack pond hike from the Kane Mountain/Green Lake Road access area in Shaker Mountain Wild Forest. The trail runs 2.3 miles to Indian Lake, passing Stewart Lake along the way, with a steeper first mile followed by flatter terrain. The 4.6-mile round trip includes a bridge, short road walk, hardwood forest, designated primitive tent sites at the ponds, and winter use for skiing or snowshoeing. It is a moderate but approachable lake outing rather than a summit-focused hike.
