Route Guidance
Trail Overview
Tabletop Mountain is a wooded High Peak reached from the Marcy corridor by an unmarked herd path. It is commonly paired with Phelps, but its mud, narrow tread, and quieter summit feel different from the marked-trail climb nearby.
Access
Adirondack Loj / HPIC is a paid, high-use High Peaks gateway; the lot often fills early on busy days.
Cautions
Tabletop uses an unmarked herd path that is often muddy and narrow. Route-finding, wet footing, and erosion can slow progress, especially after rain or during shoulder seasons.
