Thirteenth Lake is both a destination and a gateway into the Siamese Ponds Wilderness. The lake itself gives hikers an easy scenic objective from the Thirteenth Lake trailhead area, while the surrounding trail network continues toward Peaked Mountain, Hour Pond, and deeper wilderness routes. For this destination, the destination keeps the basic Thirteenth Lake outing simple and separate it from the larger mountain and pond routes that start nearby. Hikers come for quiet water, shoreline forest, family-friendly scenery, and the option to turn a short visit into a longer Siamese Ponds Wilderness day.
