Route Guidance
Trail Overview
Thomas Mountain is the easier-feeling half of the Cat and Thomas Mountains area near Bolton Landing. LGLC describes a 1.4-mile one-way approach from the Valley Woods Road parking lot, using dirt-road sections to reach an overlook with a broad view of Lake George. The route can stand alone as a short scenic hike or be extended toward Cat Mountain for a more demanding outing. Because the trail system is state-owned and maintained under stewardship agreement, the destination works well as an accessible introduction to Lake George hiking.
