Trail Overview
Woods Lake is an accessible early destination in the Silver Lake Wilderness, reached from the Benson Road section of the Northville-Placid Trail. It is not a major summit or viewpoint hike; its value is the lake setting, quiet forest, and designated campsite context near the start of this wilderness section. Hikers can use it as a short pond-style outing from Benson Road, as an easy backpacking objective, or as the first landmark on a longer NPT section hike toward Rock Lake, Silver Lake, Mud Lake, and Whitehouse.
