Trail Conditions

With the recent rain expect quite a bit of mud at the beginning of this hike until the rock hopping begins. Today was wet rock all the way to the summit. I waited at the summit for an hour and a half for the clouds to clear. I wanted to see the results of the mud slides on Colden and it didn’t disappoint. At some point I believe that whole side of Colden will be bare rock. I also educated a couple of people who wanted to do the loop over Algonquin, down to Avalanche Lake and back to LOJ. I let them know that the trail is closed due to the mud slides. As of today there was no signage at the registry to notify hikers. As always be safe, leave no trace and happy hiking to all!!
