Trail Conditions

Decided to tackle The Dix Range from 73 instead of Elk Lake as it was closer to my campsite and didn’t want to worry about parking. I know it would be a bigger day, but oh well. Started from Round Pond and tackled Dix first via the Dix Trail. The small portion of the slide that the trail follows was stunning…made me want to hike more. Dix is my new favorite and the Beckhorn was breathtaking! The whole range is as dry as a bone so pack lots of water!

To me the Dix range was easier than the Lower Great Range. No sketchy sections, but some fun scrambles here and there.

Only mud I faced was coming off of Grace via Boquet Forks Trail.

One of my biggest days on trail, but definitely my favorite!
