Lake Arnold Trail to get to Gray and Skylight.
My wife and I are visiting Lake Placid next week and are considering hiking Gray and Skylight from the ADK Loj. What are the conditions in the area of the "floating logs" on the Lake Arnold Trail? Is there a herd path around the swamp or should we plan to get soaked on our way through and bring a pair of extra socks for each traverse of the swamp? Will Gore-Tex mid-height hike boots be enough to stay dry? I'm prone to athlete's foot so need to change socks ASAP if wet.

There is a flagged and visible re-route heard path as you approach the section - maybe 20 feet before them, on the right coming from Lake Arnold. It’s very obvious if you’re looking for it, and since water levels are so low, you should find it fine.
