Trail Overview
Hough Peak sits between Dix and South Dix, making it a key connector in the full Dix Range traverse. It is rarely the easy part of the day, with rugged ridge travel, steep sections, and a long approach from either side.
Access
Primary southern Dix Range access. Seasonal access notes needed.
Cautions
Hough adds rugged ridge travel in the middle of a long Dix Range day. Weather, fatigue, water, and the remaining distance to Elk Lake or Route 73 should guide whether to continue.
