Route Guidance
Trail Overview
Street and Nye are neighboring High Peaks usually climbed together on a herd-path route west of Heart Lake. This is not a big-view summit objective. The hike is defined by forest travel, mud, route awareness, and the Indian Pass Brook crossing, which can become a serious decision point after rain or high water. It is a useful page for understanding the character of a quieter, less obvious High Peaks pair.
Trailhead
Begin from the Adirondack Loj / Heart Lake area and follow the approach toward the Street and Nye herd path.
Herd Path
After the marked approach from the Loj side, the route becomes an unmarked herd path. Treat it as a herd-path route rather than a standard colored-blaze trail.
Indian Pass Brook
The Indian Pass Brook crossing is the main practical crux and can change significantly after rain or high water.
Paired Objective
The destination page remains one page even though the hike commonly links two named summits.
Access
Check current Adirondack Loj parking details and Indian Pass Brook conditions during planning.
Cautions
The Indian Pass Brook crossing can become the key practical issue, especially after rain or high water.
